“As a… I want… so that…”
You’ve probably heard this sentence before, and that’s normal, it’s the format known as User Stories.
A User Story is a format used to explain a user’s need and why it matters to them.
It also serves as support for developers to understand the need, estimate it, and implement it.
The goal of the User Stories is not to describe everything in 100% detail, but to create dialogue and shared understanding between the Product Owner, the users, and the developers.
This format is popular because it helps teams stay focused on the user and the value delivered.
A User Story is not fixed, it’s a communication and collaboration tool. Its purpose is to help teams best meet users’ needs.
An example of a User Story would be:
“As a user, I want to share this video so that my friends can understand what the User Stories are.”
