Scrum is for one team, Nexus for multiple teams, but if I’m a huge enterprise, how do I stay agile?
The SAFe framework was created to bring agility to very large organizations, even governments.
The first concept SAFe introduces is the idea of a Train.
Multiple teams are grouped together so they can move forward toward a shared objective.
Everyone in this train moves at the same pace, defined by a time period called the Program Increment, which includes several sprints.
At the beginning of each Program Increment, there is the PI Planning, which is used to define the work and synchronize teams for the months ahead.
SAFe is based on well-known concepts like Scrum and Kanban, but applies them at a completely different scale to bring agility to much larger groups, from teams of around 150 people to organizations with thousands of people.
